I've been tagged...

I've been tagged by Amanda...I'm supposed to tell 7 things about myself...where do I begin?

1. I have tried my best to be patient about purchasing/moving to our house...I have talked about it for a year and a half and we are soooo close now! I know Billy will be glad when we're in and I don't nag him anymore about it!!!

2. I really enjoy posting "happenings" on our family blog. It's like scrapbooking (internet style). It's a great way for out of town (in my case, around the world) family and friends to see you and keep up with the latest news. I hope you all are enjoying the blog!

3. I am the "ultimate soccer mom" :~) Mallory plays on a rec. team, Mackenzie plays on a rec. team and a DII/challenge team, Billy coaches both girls' teams...and I KEEP ALL 3 TEAMS STRAIGHT (try my best)!! I have a massive email list for these teams. Our whole family is involved with soccer! We have fun especially traveling to out of town tournaments.

4. I enjoy shopping...what female doesn't? I rarely pay full price for anything...everything goes on sale eventually...you just have to be patient!

5. I enjoy cooking/baking but since we've been in Mom and Dad's house we've been spoiled by their cooking! They're wonderful cooks!

6. I correct my family when they say something that is gramatically incorrect...I'm not an English major...just never really understood some "Southern sayings"...you can't "cut a light on or off".

7. I love all sports! I know the teams/players, know the rules about the game and can "hang with the guys" when they talk about it. Just don't ask me to participate...I'm strictly a spectator! :~)

MYSO Boomers...FINALISTS!!!

The BOOMERS had a successful weekend at the National Indoor Soccer Championships. Mackenzie played tough in all 4 games. She took a shot in the head in the last game and kept on playing! They faced the Madison Hotshots in the final game this afternoon. It was INTENSE from the first whistle until the buzzer hit 0. The Hotshots got their goal with about 1 minute left in the game and won 1-0. We're proud of our girls for giving it their all and making it to the finals. Next up is the Magnolia Cup in Clinton, MS (Feb. 16 &17).

National Indoor Soccer Championship

We were in Birmingham, AL, for the 2008 NISC. We were there for Mackenzie's soccer team and for Billy's FIRST ever soccer games. He has coached for the past 3 years and finally got to get out on the field. He and Greg were asked to play for the team 2 days before the tournament. We were sooooo nervous for the men's team (ages 30's and 40's). They played against college soccer players! The guys and 1 gal hung in there for the games (40 min each game). In today's game Billy scored his first goal and other guys scored too. The other team showed great sporstmanship and showed off their footwork and skills...pretty awesome! We were also glad to see Eddie, Liliana and Nicolas while in Birmingham. It was a fun weekend.

First snow...

Mallory was upset when she found out she missed the snow in Meridian. She's been waiting and waiting to see snow. On our way home from Mobile this afternoon, we stopped by a hillside so the girls could see and touch the snow. Mallory was so excited...her first snow! When we got home there was snow still on the ground and the girls got to play a little while. They were even excited about the snow that Billy saved for them in the freezer...it was still "soft snow". :~)

Hallie's special day

We were in Mobile this weekend. We had a different kind of precipitation than in Meridian....it was cold and rainy. Hallie had her baptism this morning. It was nice to have friends from Meridian join us for this special occasion. Afterward, we had a nice lunch at the Downings' home.

Snow in Meridian

Meridian got snow Friday night (1/18) and Saturday (1/19) with accumulation between 2-3 inches! The last time we had snow was December 2000. Billy was able to have fun in the snow. Mackenzie, Mallory and I were in Mobile so we didn't get to have a snowball fight...maybe next time. Thanks to Amanda for these pictures of our house and of Billy.

Arkansas duck hunt

Billy took Mackenzie on her first duck hunt from Fri. Dec. 28th-Mon. Dec. 31st in Harrisburg, AR. Billy's cousin Don and his daughter Lindsey Kay joined them on the trip. Sunny and Cocoa (our labs) went too. Mackenzie called up 3 geese and shot her shotgun. It was a successful hunt and everyone had a fun time. Billy will be going back to Arkansas the next 2 weekends...just can't get enough!
